Men’s Club

 

This is a social organization for the men of our Parish.  The Club meets monthly for dinner and fellowship and occasionally hosts special golf and fishing outings.  Fish Fry Dinners hosted every Friday during Lent are the Club’s biggest service event.  This group generously donates to those in need and assists in addressing Parish needs as they arise.

 

 

 

 

 

Women’s Club

 

This is a social organization for the women of our Parish.  The Club meets monthly for dinner, fellowship and occasionally hosts special activities, such as Casino Night.  Every year, the group assists at the Fish Fry Dinners during Lent.  This group generously donates to those in need and assists in addressing Parish needs as they arise.

 

 

 

 

 

Mom’s Group

 

MOMs Group is a support group for all mothers of the Parish.  Whether moms work full time at home or full or part-time away from home, opportunities are provided for social and faith-filled activities for moms and children.  Moms meet weekly with their children for play groups and also to participate in Mom’s Night Out events and faith sharing opportunities.

 

 

 

 

 

Young at Heart Group

 

This is a social group for anyone over the age of 50.  The group meets once a month for a potluck luncheon followed by BINGO.  Special activities such as raffles and movies are also scheduled.  Volunteers help with serving and clean up.

 

 

 

 

 

Young Catholic Families Group

 

This is a Ministry for the whole family.  Opportunities are provided throughout the year for Parish families to get together for local field trips, outings, and activities such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Strawberry Patch tour and Family Night at the Movies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Summerfest Committee

 

Each year our Parish dedicates a weekend to gather together to celebrate community.  Usually on the last weekend in May, St. Matthew Church hosts a Summer Festival on Friday night and all day Saturday that includes games, food, entertainment and family activities.  Volunteers are always needed to plan and help out at the largest Parish gathering of the year.

 

 

 

 

 

Social Concern Committee
 
The Social Concern Committee focus on the variety of social ministries in St. Matthew and surrounding area.  The group started last year with meetings for learning, discernment, and discussions.  At first, the group focused on awareness of social justice in the parish and society at large.  Also, the group helps to carry out the social justice values of the Gospel within the parish with concrete actions.
