CATECHETICAL MINISTRIES
Ministers are needed in all of our programs to help provide the faith formation needed as Christians. Training and support are available in all levels of Ministry from preschool, elementary through senior high school, and adult formation.
Baptismal Preparation 
Facilitators work with parents to prepare their infants by presenting a brief history and theology of the sacrament. Instruction to parents and godparents also includes information about what to expect on the day of Baptism. Training is required and facilitators must participate in the Diocesan formation processes.
Children's Liturgy of the Word
Families and volunteers alike are enthusiastic about this program that presents the Liturgy of the Word in ways that children can understand. Children in kindergarten though grade six are dismissed from the Sunday liturgy after the opening prayer to hear and respond to the readings proclaimed. Facilitators receive resources and training to present each session. The commitment for volunteers is approximately once per month, and each session lasts approximately 20 minutes. Training is provided and Diocesan formation is encouraged.
Children and Youth Sacramental Program
Trained facilitators help with parent meetings and workshops designed to prepare children and youth for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Facilitators are encouraged to participate in the Diocesan formation process. Catechists and aides prepare our high school-aged youth to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Training and resources are provided and participation in the Diocesan formation process is highly encouraged.
Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA)
RCIA stands for Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults. It is for adults who:
1. Are not baptized and desire to be
baptized into the Catholic Church.
2. Have been baptized and desire to
receive the Sacraments of Eucharist and
Confirmation.
3. Have been baptized and received
Eucharist and desire to receive the Sacrament of
Confirmation.
4. Those who have been baptized in
another denomination and wish to enter
the
Catholic Church through a Confession of Faith.
The RCIA begins on Thursday, September
22, 2011 and ends at the Easter Vigil on April 7, 2012.It consists of 17
sessions that are held on Thursdays from 7-8:30pm.

Religious Education
Catechists and aides can deepen their own faith by sharing it with the children of our parish. Our Religious Education Program serves children in grade one through six in English and Spanish. Resources for each session are available. Training is required and participation in the Diocesan formation processes is highly recommended.
Youth Ministry
The Youth Ministry Program gives our youth an opportunity to bring God into their lives in a more active way. Young people need adults in whom they can confide, talk with, and share their faith. As a faith community, it is our responsibility to share our wonderful Catholic tradition with them. Each year, we have more than 300 youth registered in our program. As our parish continues to grow, we have a great need for adults to help in this very important ministry. Please consider investing a small amount of time in our future – our youth. Training will be provided.
Vacation Bible School 
For one week each summer, a Vacation Bible School is offered in the early evening for children in kindergarten through grade six. High school-aged and adult volunteers are needed to prepare snacks, guide small groups through activity stations, and prepare and lead crafts and activities. Training is provided.
